5th Mar 2009: As previously announced, a selection of prints and posters featuring videogame artwork by Bob Wakelin will be available for purchase at the event. However, we can now confirm that Bob himself will be present on the Saturday, and will be happy to sign posters if required. This flyer contains details of all available artwork. However, stocks at Byte Back will be extremely limited so if you would like to reserve a particular piece, please contact artwork@bobwakelin.com with your requirements as soon as possible.
3rd Mar 2009: In addition to the recently announced Repton competition, Retro Software will also be running a high score contest for Jamie Woodhouse's previously unreleased game Zap. Prizes will include a copy of the game and also the PC version of Jamie's classic Qwak!

This is for reasons of safety as the venue would be over capacity if any more visitors were allowed to enter!

28th Feb 2009: German Homebrew developers Protovision have kindly donated a copy of their excellent Commodore 64 game Tanks 3000 (with 4-player adaptor) to our prize draw. In return we will be distributing their flyers and price lists at the event.

20th Feb 2009: One of our guest speakers Jon Stoodley has kindly promised a selection of books about gaming to our charity auction, while the Commodore Computer Club will be providing a fantastic bundle for our raffle draw, including a C64C with 1541 disk drive, Mayhem in Monsterland and 1 year membership to the organisation!
19th Feb 2009: Regretfully we have to announce a late withdrawal from the event - Console Mad will no longer be exhibiting. We do however still have lots of other dealers selling their wares! Updated room plans will be made available soon to reflect this change.
18th Feb 2009: We now have downloadable PDF files available showing the floor plans for the Main Room and Executive Suite, plus an outline programme of events for the weekend. You don't need to bring these with you however as everyone will receive a complimentary Programme upon entering the venue.
17th Feb 2009: Thanks in part to a large group booking, we have now surpassed 200 tickets sales! There are now under 40 tickets remaining for the event so if you haven't bought one yet, don't delay much longer! Tickets will continue to be sold up until Friday 6th March subject to availability but please note that no tickets will be sold on the day of the event and you will not be able to pay on the door. Any ticket orders placed in the week prior to the event will not be sent out by post - you will need to bring your email confirmation and collect your tickets on the door.

9th Feb 2009:Superior Interactive is the latest addition to the Homebrew Showcase. They will be demonstrating PC remakes of classic BBC Micro games such as Repton, Galaforce Worlds and Ravenskull, with limited copies of each being available to buy.
5th Feb 2009: Donna from Arcade Art has agreed to produce a unique piece of gaming-inspired artwork for the event and generously donate it to our charity auction! The piece will be on display during the event along with promotional postcards for anyone interested in commissioning their own piece.
4th Feb 2009: We are delighted to say that we have now sold over 150 tickets for the event!
3rd Feb 2009: We are pleased to announce that Jim Bagley will be joining the Ocean Reunited panel. Jim worked for Special FX software and was programmer on a number of Spectrum and Amstrad games published by Ocean, such as Cabal and Red Heat.

26th Jan 2009: Our latest addition to the Homebrew Showcase is US publisher Super Fighter Team, who are responsible for Beggar Prince and Legend of Wukong, the first commercially-released Sega Megadrive cartridges since 1998. Both games will be demonstrated and available to purchase at Byte Back, and a copy of each will also be available to win in one of our competitions!

19th Jan 2009: Fans of football games from over the years take note, Weekend Gamer's World Cup Carnival competition at Byte Back will give you the chance to show off your skills on a selection of classic footie games.

16th Jan 2009: Our latest confirmed guest speakers are two record-breaking Arcade gamers. Tony Temple holds the current World Record score on Missile Command, while Jon Stoodley recorded the highest ever score on Pac-Man in the golden era of gaming, which was not surpassed for 16 years. Jon and Tony will be sharing their memories and demonstrating their techniques on these two classic games. Following their Q&A we will be showing the acclaimed gaming documentary "The King of Kong" on a large projector screen.
15th Jan 2009: Due to concerns about organisation, time and interest we have decided to cancel two of our competitons - Battle of the 8-bits and Pong will no longer be taking place. However there are still several great competitions to enter instead!
13th Jan 2009: Byte Back guest Jamie Woodhouse recently unearthed a lost BBC Micro shoot em up called Zap, which predates his most famous game Qwak! With assistance from Retro Software this game will be released for the first time at the event in a limited edition format, autographed by Jamie, for the cost of a nominal donation to charity!
11th Jan 2009: The Ocean Reunited panel now has another member, taking the total to four former Ocean employees! The latest addition is Simon Butler who was responsible for in-game graphics on more than 30 Ocean games.

17th Nov 2008: We are delighted to confirm the attendance of Jamie Woodhouse at the event. Jamie developed a number of popular Amiga and Gameboy Advance games and is best known for the addictive platformer Qwak, which he will be discussing as one of our guest speakers!
